Ethos

Curiosity moves us. Knowledge shapes us. A steady instinct guides us toward what is truly beautiful. Every project begins with a question and ends with something that, above all, feels right.

Areas of expertise
  • Creative directionSetting a project’s course and holding it: concept, tone, and the decisions that keep photography, type, and layout pointing the same way, from first conversation to final artwork.
  • Brand identity & strategyNaming, positioning, and the visual system that carries them: logotype, colour, typography, and the rules for using them. Delivered as working files and guidelines a team can apply without us.
  • Graphic designIndividual pieces, designed and finished: posters, publications, packaging, signage, stationery. Built on an existing identity, or standing alone when that is the brief.
  • Art direction & photographyPlanning and directing the images a project needs — commissioning photographers, directing shoots, or shooting ourselves — so the pictures belong to the identity rather than sit beside it.
  • Print design & productionDesign carried through to the printed object: paper, format, ink, and finish, specified and supervised with the printer. We stay until the sheets are approved.
  • Digital designWebsites and digital pieces, designed and built: structure, layout, motion, and type that behave properly on every screen. This site is one of them.
  • ConsultancyAdvice without production: audits of existing identities, second opinions on work in progress, help writing a brief before any design begins.
  • Lectures & talksTalks on design practice for institutions, museums, and universities: what the studio does and why, shown through the work itself. Recent engagements —“Design as Evidence” Bank of England [30.06.2026]“Museums & Digital Interactions” Museo Casa Ricardo Rojas [05.12.2025]“Design & Robotics” Imperial College London [06.08.2025]
Craft

Every brief is, at heart, a question about identity. The answer lives within the subject itself. We investigate the history, language, culture, and people behind every brief. Design that endures always has its roots in something true about its subject. Working across cultures and languages gives us a way of seeing shaped by genuine curiosity about the world. The result: work that doesn’t impose a visual language on the client, but finds the one that was already there.
